Halloween Horror Trivia Contest - GO!

E. E. Knight
Okay, here we go. Posted the rules earlier, so I hope you read them.

In summary, you can only answer one question. You'll either get it right and win (in which case you stop playing) get it right but someone beat you to the right answer (try again with a different question) or get in wrong (try again with a different answer).

I'll cross the questions answered off as they go

And remember, if all else fails you can enter the email drawing...

  1. What breakthrough movie contains this dialogue:

    "It was the boogeyman."
"As a matter of fact, it was."

  2. [info]raelee wins with John Carpenter's Halloween!

  3. When Count Dracula spoke of "children of the night -- what music they make" to what creatures was he referring?

  4. [info]wendiigo wins with wolves!

  5. What 80s vampire movie had the same woman both writing and directing? Hint: it featured the line

  6. "We keep odd hours."

    [info]mjolnir1964 wins with Near Dark!

  7. Richard Matheson's 1954 classic novel I Am Legend has been filmed three different times. What is the title of the second adaption?

  8. [info]stevenagy wins with The Omega Man!

  9. What is the Blob's vulnerability? (either version)

  10. [info]guardian_hawk wins with cold!

  11. In the 1999 version of The Mummy (the one with Brendan Fraser) what language does Beni finally succeed with in pleading to Imhotep during their first encounter?

  12. [info]xolsiion wins with Hebrew!

  13. What movie contains this dialogue:

"If time is your enemy, make friends with EZ-on, that's all I can tell you. It's so good, that if ever I became famous and the EZ-on people asked me would I do a commercial, not only would I do it, I'd do it for FREE!"

  14. [info]wendiigo wins with The Stepford Wives!

  15. When Francis Ford Coppola cast Keanu Reeves as Johnathan Harker for his 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula was Coppola

    A. Stoned
    B. Insane
    C. Wildly mistaken as to Keanu's abilities
    D. All of the above

  16. [info]rhonawestbrook wins with "D"! This, BTW, was the one that you couldn't get wrong.

  17. During the blackout scene at the house in Tarantula, who watched "Steve" through her bedroom window?

    A. John Belushi
    B. John Agar
    C. The Tarantula
    D. The creepy old professor with the droopy eye

    [info]suricattus wins with jealousy!

  20. In Manos: The Hands of Fate, who takes care of the place (and presumably feeds the Doberman) when the Master is away?

  21. [info]michaeldthomas wins with Torgo!

  24. In Rosemary's Baby (both novel and film), what was placed inside the locket the Castevets gave to Rosemary?

  25. [info]carlitos wins with Tannis Root!

  26. The 40s were a bad period for horror film fans. Between the death of the Universal monster features at the start of the 40s and the rise of Hammer horror and Jack Arnold's creature features in the mid-50s, there was only one bright spot for fans who wanted intelligent, suggestive, psychological horror. What talented, foreign born producer and screenwriter made a series of nine horror films out of studio-supplied titles? Hint: one of his films is in this quiz.

  27. [info]burger_eater wins with Val Lewton!

ETA: Okay, it's 10PM, any of the winners want to try for that last question?

ETA: Congratulations to the winners. I'll be in touch via email tomorrow sometime to get your snail mail addy! Decide which title you'd like, how you'd like it inscribed, and where it should be sent.
