Labor Day Misfortunes

Darcy

Well, we had a busy weekend on the schedule, but [info]chats_noirs tripped and fell on one of Oak Park's enormous, carriage-and-muddy-wheelrims-era curbs.

So she's in drydock and we're confined to the condo.

Missyisms, in one of her usual brilliant suggestions, advised a Jane Austen marathon. Right now Emma Thompson's version of Sense & Sensibility is playing on the old Laser-Disc machine.

So we're having homemade sundaes and watching movies. I ran out and bought ice cream, hot fudge, dulce de leche sauce, whipped cream, and cherries, which Chats assures me goes really well with Tylenol 3. Though Alan Rickman is making her salivate even more than the hot fudge.

Chats is a woman of discernment.

(now, Alan Rickman in hot.. okay, stopping now, while I can still get some work done today...)

Modesty forbids me from commenting.

Sorry to hear the lovely [info]chat_noirs is off her feat. I hope she has a speedy recovery!

I'll tell her so. Right now she's suffering from cabin fever more than anything.

I should be there in about 5 hours. To comfort and entertain Chats, of course. It has nothing to do sundaes and Tylenol 3... ;)

Please wish her a speedy recovery from the Franklin clan!

"in one of her usual brilliant suggestions"...wow! I'm humbled by such praise! Since I couldn't join you in person (darn allergies!), I joined you in spirit and just watched EMMA (with Paltrow). Now I want to watch the other mid-1990's EMMA, but I don't own it; unless I have it on an old videotape somewhere. A Rickman-drooling might be in order here also!

I hope Chats is feeling better!
